Patrick received a B.A. in Finance from Shippensburg University. After college he worked at one of the largest investment companies in the world, The Vanguard Group in Philadelphia, PA, learning a great deal about investing and the world of finance. However, having other business interests, he ultimately earned his Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law.
Patrick loved the pragmatic nature of law and practiced for nearly five years drafting wills, representing zoning boards, conducting contract litigation, and completing residential real estate closings. Eventually his passion for finance brought him back to the financial services industry, where he worked for both a small broker/dealer, L. O. Thomas & Associates and a large insurance company, AXA Equitable.
To stay true to his beliefs and with the desire to provide a more comprehensive service model to his clients, Patrick made an adjustment to his career. He realized the importance of being an independent advisor, having a robust professional network, and having absolutely no ties to specific products would help him serve clients with less conflicts of interest. He used his 25 years of experience in law and finance, to build Geubtner Advisors & Associates.
Patrick's business practice was most influenced by one of his closest clients, Michelle Florian, his sister. He truly wants his clients to learn from her experience. She was positive, optimistic, and enjoyed living in the now. It was amazing how she could so comfortably live in the present enjoying a cup of tea and a book, but so relentlessly plan for future trips, to experience the different cultures of the world. During the past 25 years, Patrick and his wife, Kristen, have renovated five homes themselves. They have flipped some and maintain others as rental properties. He believes, being a landlord provided a degree of education beyond a law degree.
When not in the office, Patrick can be found taking on small projects to improve the house, garage, and garden – or landscaping his yard.
He and Kristen are avid travelers. They enjoying visiting different places and different cultures and have travelled to locations in Europe, Japan and Australia.
